Compare the complete cash amount due at checkout first. Show a possible post-purchase cash rebate separately until its conditions are met and the money is received. A lower conditional net cost does not reduce the cash you must pay today.
The three offers below are entirely hypothetical U.S. dollar examples. They are not FlashFish prices, promotions, rebate programs, or eligibility decisions. Their purpose is to show how the same worksheet handles a discount applied now and a possible payment later.
Keep two totals visible
Start with a complete quote for the exact configuration: station, required accessories, shipping, and tax. If one quote includes an item that another omits, resolve that difference before comparing totals. Record the seller, configuration, and quote time so a later change is visible.
Use the actual final checkout total after any confirmed discount. Do not estimate a discount's tax treatment yourself. A percentage on a banner is insufficient when the checkout does not show how it affects the total.
Then add a separate conditional line:
Conditional net after receipt = confirmed cash outlay − eligible cash rebate actually received.
Before receipt, label the subtraction as a scenario. Keep the no-rebate total next to it. This makes the consequence of an unsuccessful or incomplete claim explicit without guessing the likelihood of approval.
Record the claim conditions beside the arithmetic
| Field | What to record | What remains unresolved |
|---|---|---|
| Complete quote | Exact SKU, included items, shipping, tax, timestamp | Any missing item or unconfirmed total |
| Checkout discount | Amount actually applied to the order | Unapplied code or different configuration |
| Cash due now | Final confirmed payment amount | Changes before order confirmation |
| Conditional rebate | Issuer, eligible SKU/date, payment form, required evidence | Whether the exact purchase qualifies |
| Claim deadline | Official terms and relevant date | Any ambiguous submission requirement |
| Claim state | Not submitted, submitted, approved, or received | Do not combine these states |
| Conditional net | Outlay minus qualifying cash payment in a labeled scenario | No-rebate outlay remains visible |
Use the issuer's applicable written terms for a real offer. If the issuer, payment form, eligible configuration, or deadline is unavailable, leave that field unresolved. A promotional screenshot without the terms does not establish qualification.
Three hypothetical offers worked through
In this table, every checkout amount is assumed to be a complete final quote. The hypothetical discounts have already been reflected in those final amounts; they are not subtracted again.
| Hypothetical offer | Discount applied | Cash due now / no rebate | Possible later cash | Conditional net after receipt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example 1: Checkout discount | $30 | $210 | $0 | $210 |
| Example 2: Cash rebate | $0 | $240 | $50 if eligible, approved, and received | $190 |
| Example 3: Combined offer | $15 | $225 | $20 if the hypothetical terms allow combination and payment arrives | $205 |
Example 1: The lowest immediate outlay
The first offer requires $210 now and has no later claim in this example. It costs $30 less upfront than the second offer. It can be evaluated without depending on future rebate money.
Example 2: A lower conditional net needs more cash now
The second offer requires $240. If a qualifying $50 cash rebate is received, the conditional net is $190. Without it, the outlay stays $240. Someone with a $220 purchase budget cannot use the possible $190 net as evidence that the $240 checkout fits that budget.
Example 3: Do not assume offers combine
The third offer requires $225 after its checkout discount. Its $205 conditional net assumes the separate $20 cash rebate is permitted with that discount and is received. If the combination is ineligible, the outlay remains $225. Verify the combination rule rather than adding advertised savings together.
Track submitted, approved, and received separately
A useful claim log has one row per offer and separate dates for submission, an issuer decision, and receipt. Record the source of each status. A submission confirmation supports “submitted”; it does not fill the “received” field. Do not assign an expected payment date or approval probability unless the applicable evidence supplies it.
Also preserve the payment form. This worksheet subtracts cash in its hypothetical examples. A gift card, store credit, or future-purchase coupon needs its own restrictions recorded; do not silently treat its face amount as cash returned to your account.
Fit the equipment before comparing its offer
FlashFish's product data lists A101 at 97.68Wh and E200 at 151Wh nominal battery capacity. Those values distinguish the models; they do not establish that either powers a particular device for a required duration. Check the exact regional model, required outputs, and intended equipment before comparing like-for-like quotes.
A rebate should not make an unsuitable configuration look suitable. Keep any missing accessory in the complete quote, and leave device compatibility unresolved until the relevant documentation supports it.
FAQ
Can I subtract the rebate from my available cash today?
Keep the actual checkout amount in the due-now column. The hypothetical later payment belongs in a separate scenario, not in the money available to place the order.
Should an approved claim count as received?
No. Preserve the approval record, then record receipt separately when you have evidence of the actual payment.
What if there is no applicable rebate document?
Compare the complete checkout totals without subtracting a rebate. Ask the issuer for the relevant terms before treating any later payment as part of the comparison.
Begin with the exact A101 or E200 configuration your equipment requires. Write down its complete due-now quote and leave a separate conditional line for any documented cash claim. Make the purchase decision with both outcomes visible.
